For glass, sheet metal, ductwork and warehouse box cutting, choose a cut resistant work glove with a coated or dotted palm so sharp edges don’t slip. Understanding Cut Levels (ANSI A3–A9)

Cut-resistant gloves are rated by the ANSI/ISEA 105 scale from A1 (light) to A9 (extreme). For glass handling, metal stamping, and blade work, A4–A6 covers most industrial tasks, while A7–A9 protects against the sharpest hazards. Cut Resistant Gloves FAQ

Are cut proof gloves really cut proof?

No glove is completely cut proof. “Cut proof gloves” is a common name for cut resistant gloves: they resist slicing from blades and sharp edges, and a higher ANSI level means more resistance. They are not designed to stop punctures from needles or points, or contact with powered saw blades.

What cut level do I need for the kitchen?

For most home and restaurant prep — knives, mandolines, graters and shucking — a food-grade Level 5 / A5 glove is a good balance of protection and feel.

Can you wash cut resistant gloves?

Yes. Most knit cut resistant gloves can be washed and air dried; follow the care instructions for each pair, and replace gloves that are torn, worn thin or have a cut through the fabric.

Do cut resistant gloves protect against heat?

Kevlar knit gives some protection from brief contact with warm parts, but these are not oven or welding gloves. For high temperatures, shop our heat resistant gloves.
