This page is provided by G & F Products, Inc. to satisfy the online disclosure requirement of California Health & Safety Code § 109012 (Assembly Bill 1200). It identifies chemicals on the applicable California designated list that are intentionally added to the food-contact surface (and, where applicable, the handle) of the cookware products listed below, and links to the authoritative lists referenced by the California Department of Toxic Substances Control (DTSC).

About AB 1200

California’s AB 1200 (Health & Safety Code § 109000 et seq.) requires manufacturers of certain cookware to disclose whether chemicals on designated lists are intentionally added to a product’s food-contact surfaces or handles. AB 1200 is a California-only law. Beginning January 1, 2023, manufacturers must identify such chemicals on their website; beginning January 1, 2024, manufacturers must also identify those chemicals on the product label where the product bears packaging or a label.

“Intentionally added” means the manufacturer added the chemical to the product and the chemical has a functional or technical effect in the product. The complete set of chemicals and authoritative lists that DTSC uses is maintained by DTSC at https://dtsc.ca.gov/scp/authoritative-lists/.

Non-stick cooking surface (food-contact) Perfluoroalkyl and Polyfluoroalkyl Substances (PFASs) — specifically Polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) 9002-84-0 CECBP – Priority Chemicals (California Environmental Contaminant Biomonitoring Program) Authoritative lists

Handles: not applicable — this product is a flat mat and has no separate handle component.

Why PTFE is present. Polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) is applied to the woven-fiberglass mat to provide its non-stick cooking surface and heat resistance. It is intentionally added for that functional purpose. PTFE is a fluoropolymer within the per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) family, which is why it appears on the applicable designated list and is disclosed here.

2. Stainless Steel BBQ Skewers

Brand: G & F Products
Models / SKUs: 25618 (Premium Brazilian-Style, 17″ flat blade, hardwood handles) · 25619 (23″ long, 5/8″ wide, 2 mm)
Food-contact surface: Food-grade stainless steel

These products are made of stainless steel. Pursuant to California Health & Safety Code § 109012 (AB 1200), the following intentionally-added chemicals present on the California designated list are contained in the food-contact surface and handle:

ComponentChemical (as disclosed)CAS RNLink
Stainless steel (food-contact surface & handle)Chromium7440-47-3Authoritative lists
Stainless steel (food-contact surface & handle)Nickel and Nickel Compounds7440-02-0Authoritative lists
Stainless steel (food-contact surface & handle)Manganese Compounds7439-96-5Authoritative lists
Stainless steel (food-contact surface & handle)Iron7439-89-6Authoritative lists

Chromium content verified at 16.39% by weight (food-grade stainless steel). The hardwood handle, where present, shares the same disclosed chemistry only insofar as it contacts food; no additional designated-list chemicals are intentionally added to the wood.

Why these metals are present. Chromium, nickel, manganese, and iron are inherent, intentionally-selected constituents of food-grade stainless steel. Chromium forms the passive, corrosion-resistant layer that makes the alloy safe and durable for food contact; nickel, manganese, and iron are alloying elements that give the steel its strength and stability. They are disclosed here because they appear on the applicable California designated list.
